Which would hurt more: Foot thing in Saw 1 or Saw 3?

Cary Elwes cutting off his foot at the end of Saw, or Donnie Wahlberg breaking his foot in what looked like several ways? I'm inclined to say the first, but doesn't numbness or endorphins block out that much pain?

Also -- if he could do that in Saw 3, why didn't Tobin Bell see that in the first one?

Forgive me for not leaping for joy, bad back, you know.

the first saw didn't make any sense to me, and i don't think the guy in the first had a huge thing to break his leg well with.

Donnie Wahlberg used the cover of the top of the toilet, which would have been in the room the first time, too. I understand the situation is stressful and no one would probably be thinking straight, (and that this movie was written after that one) but he was a surgeon. He should've thought of that possibility, don't you think?

they are both crazy i'd rather die with my leg

Doctor Gordon was on the opposite end of the bathroom to the toilet so didn't have anything hard to break his leg with, he just had the saw which he could use to chop it off! Adam was the one that could've used it but obviously he didn't think of it or couldn't bring himself to do it!

I always thought Eric Mathews way of getting out of the chain would hurt more, I dunno why it just seems like it would

I think breaking the foot would hurt more and take longer, but the massive advantage of breaking the foot is not having your foot cutoff and losing lots of blood.

I think people are inclined to say that Eric breaking his foot would hurt more only because it's shown more explicitly than Dr. Gordon's saw escape. I could handle watching Lawrence cutting off his foot but I cringed and had to look away at Dtc. Matthews

i wouldnt even cut my whole foot off, just my heel

i've got feelings too, ya know - inbetweeners

Damn that's a thought I guess. But how could you get around after that..you'd still need some sort of prosthetic I'm guessing.

I had to look away only during Eric's scene too. For some reason I don't remember the scene in movie 1 as being that graphic? idk. I would definitely not have the nerve to do either. When I was little I broke my tibia and passed out from the pain. And I don't know the first thing about making a tourniquet or how to keep from bleeding out. So I'd definitely be a goner either way 😭

reply

yeah but you only have to cut less, and won't bleed out quickly.
