The kid was a pain in the a$s

Seriously, in the movie they kept saying how special and wonderful and bright that little boy was. WTF. He was nothing but a little brat who did absolutely nothing great or special or smart or even kind.
I'm sorry for the rant but it really annoyed me. Does anyone actually disagree with me?? I'd be happy to hear why you think otherwise.

He was your normal average kid. There were far more annoying brats in the history of cinema. He wasn't even a smartass.

The adjectives "wonderful" and "special" were exaggarated for her mother to understand how important her child is and how much he needs her.

I think that while some kids are just naturally a pain in the neck, I do think that there are some kids out there who behave like brats because their parents don't know how to keep them in check or just plain spoil them...I think Mrs. X was really self centered during a good portion of the movie....

Working with children all my life (literally) I have to say that the apple really doesn't fall far from the tree. Kids are how they are raised just as you are what you eat.

The parents (mother mostly) were saying all this stuff so that people could accept their son. I have a feeling that he didn't get into that collegiate school because of him and his behavior, not because of the "lack of educational things" from home.

Also, he is a "spoiled brat" because he too used to being taken cared of by the help. Whenever they *try* to discipline him he would say "I don't have to listen to you, YOU'RE not my Mommy!! And since mom was too busy spa-ing herself and the dad was too busy getting his dingdong sucked by that brunette twat to do their parental duty to instill discipline in Greyer, he had no discipline..

He was not a brat 24/7 though.

Yeah. Grayer was underdeveloped and the actor that played him wasn't adorable

What, he wasn't that annoying at all! For children it's easy to accept people who are supposed to be their new moms, what do you expect - to welcome Annie with a hug or something? After that he wasn't that irritating as well, I found him just fine.

Plus, I don't thing Annie was exaggerating when saying how special he was. He may not have been the smartest and the kindest child but when you spend that much time with a little person, they become so wonderful and amazing to you. I myself realize that my nephew is no special too, but for me everything he does is simply incredible and bright. And this is not exaggerating because he is to me and to his mother. So was the kid to Annie (and fortunately, later to his mom too).

I ended up liking Greyer. He had issues because of his parents lack of interest in him! He didn't want Annie, he wed his mother's attention. After that Annie was his like his best friend... This movie is so sad yet so cute. Greyer was cute to me after he accepted Annie and startedd to love her, his ugly ways diminished!
