Possibly the worst thing I've ever seen

come on people, 7.6 seriously? No matter how much you try to like this film, it's just not possible. Everything about this movie is BAD. Funny? Give me a break, humour is so flat that it's sad. I can't believe I wasted almost one and a half hour of my life on this. Pathetic.

Either you have no sense of humor or you're a troll.

Can't he be both?

reply

Thanks for including absolutes in a subjective statement.

I haven't got a chance to see it yet but a friend of mine got a copy somehow. He told me the movie is Hilarious He's had it for about a week and has watched it 3 times already.

I'm usually not that vocal about pirating, but people should really go out and see this movie in theaters. It's a good idea to support low-budget, indie films like this one so they can continue to be made. I'm not directing this toward you, but you should tell your friend to go and see it in the theater if he can. I feel kinda bad if this movie is being pirated. :-/

Watch Evil Dead 1,2, and Army of Darkness. Then you will understand.

reply

But this film isn't Evil Dead 1, 2, or Army of Darkness.

The trailer looks horrid, I'm not sure I want to risk my fond memories of that heroic chin!

reply

I thought it was hilarious and this is coming from a general Bruce fan, someone who hasn't seen more then 5 or 6 of his movies.

Seriously, get a sense of humor.

reply

Having a sense of humour doesn't mean you find every piece of comedy automatically amusing.

reply

Is that what I said?

reply

You told the guy to get a sense of humour because he didn't find this film funny.

So yes, that's exactly what you implied.

reply

The OP also said the fact the movie had a semi-high rating was "Pathetic" sounds like he needs a sense of humor just in general not just about movies.

reply

I'm a big fan of Bruce Campbell but I hate to say it but this film was a bit of a let down. Dont get me wrong it had some good moments but overall I was disapointed after waiting so long to see it I was probably expecting too much.

reply

just caught this at the nuart in santa monica.

this movie looks like it had less of a budget than 'bubba ho-tep.' it did a good job with what it had. but, yes, its pretty low budget. but i didn't really go expecting to see james cameron's 'aliens.' i went to see bruce campbell ham it up. and he delivered the goods! i found it really enjoyable.

if you're looking for 'star wars' or 'the dark knight' you probably won't like it.

reply

I doubt very much anyone with a prior knowledge of Bruce Campbell is expecting that kind of 'quality'.

His humour worked for Evil Dead as it was exceptionally well written for the genre (imo), the trailer just looks like Bruce going through the motions. Ironic as that's kind of what the film is about.

I'll watch this if I stumble upon it, perhaps.

reply

its strictly for the fans come on!!!!

reply

i thought it was good for what it is. compared to big budget films it's going to be poor, but as a low budget indie film i think they did a good job.

reply

your acting like you dont care about the movie or that you might watch if u "stumble on it" just like u stumbled on this imdb board? just like you stumbled into watching the trailer..give me a break and your trying to bad mouth the movie and u havent even watched it? dude *beep* off seriously...

reply

bubba ho-tep was great though

this is a trainwreck of a "movie"

reply

at first: sorry for the *beep* english...it's not my native language..

when I read about my name is bruce for the very first time I was very excited and thought "wow...not evil dead 4 but very close"...even if the concept is kind of a galaxy quest or three amigos rippoff I thought there would be so many ways to make this movie a cult classic...like the being john malkovich for the horror or b-movie folks...

when I watched the trailer for the first time I thought "oh my god...it looks so damn creepy and the jokes are embarrassing silly"

and now my impression after watching the movie 10 minutes ago: the visual work is quite ok...they used the budget very well, the effects could be much worse. comparing his work as a direcor on man with the screaming brain and my name is bruce you will recognize that mr campbell improved in many ways. but as a bruce campbell fan (I love OF COURSE the evil dead series, bubba ho-tep (my fav.) and flicks like running time) I have admit that the movie is even more boring than man with the screaming brain. well screaming brain was unbelieveable creepy...but with some friends and some beers you could have great fun with this b-movie...but that didn't work out for me this time...

I think bruce is a very talented and funny guy. if you wath videos of his live appearences you know what I mean. so I can hardly understand why a wisecracker like bruce makes a movie full of awfull, silly and old jokes? yeah of course its meant to be for bruce campbell fans...but just referencing some movie titles doesn't make a movie with an unoriginal lame plot interesting for me...sorry but I would only give 2 stars out of 5.
