The worst 'film' ive ever seen in my life

seriously

ps Army of Darkness is *beep* too

reply

no you didnt!

reply

I am so glad that the score has gone down from 7.7 to 7.2 since the last time I checked. This movie is *beep* horrible by any standard

Well... That's just like my opinion, man.

reply

Anyone who thinks AoD is "beep" needs their head examined.

Ps. And I "beeping" mean that.

It's pretty much a given that if you didn't like AOD then you are not going to even understand My Name is Bruce, let alone like it.

What I don't understand and what I feel is really odd and sad is that you aren't a fan, you needlessly hate on previous movies yet you took the time out to come on here and start a brand new thread about how you didn't like a movie that wasn't even made for you.

I went and saw this movie and I came out of it thinking, this is a movie that'd really critic proof.
In the sense that sure, as a Bruce Campbell fan you can either like it or not like it (and it is a movie for fans of the actor himself not Evil Dead because there's not a lot of gore or genuine horror here) but in general the movie is so silly and so specificly for one kind of audience that comparing this to other movies or criticising it for not being Evil Dead 4 or whatever is really redundant.

This is not a movie attempting to knock Dark Knight off the top spot it is the funny, silly, fan movie that Bruce wanted to make. The movie that harks back to his super 8 days with Raimi and Speigel. Despite its plot similarities to Three Amigos and Galaxy Quest it's also a movie unlike any other both in tone, content and the fact that it's a parody of a real guy and not just a made up spoof.

Look, I'll take criticism from a genuine Bruce fan because then there's something to debate but if you didn't like AOD then
A) why did you even go see this movie?
B) how did you even know about this movie?
C) what was the point commenting about it on here?
D) and, really, this was the worst movie you've ever seen, really??

IMDB - people come together and share opinions but we don't like it if you're different

reply

wow calm down guy i was just kidding

ps evil dead is *beep* too

reply

I am calm, logical and considered in my thoughts and the debate.

You, on the other hand appear to like just knee-jerk shock-tactic hate mongering.

This is a My Name is Bruce message board. If you didn't like the movie (or other Bruce Campbell related genre classics) why are you even on here?

I understand your joke. Isn't it funny to go on imdb and wind b-movie cult fans up because we are all just losers in our parents basement right? all us Bruce Campbell fans are acne ridden 14 year olds without lives, right?

Well actually we aren't, I for one am an adult lover of all film, I enjoy debate, I don't live with my parents and I try nor to write anything without thinking about it first.

I know that by giving my time to you I am doing precisely what you want and giving you attention and I know you probably think that I take life to seriously, it's just, sometimes, when I can be bothered, or I have the time, I like to tell people like you what I really think about you and your needless time wasting 'jokey' hating of other peoples likes and disslikes, hobbies and passions.

and I ask you

really

what's the point??

IMDB - people come together and share opinions but we don't like it if you're different

reply

Wow, this is fun.

Evil Dead 1 & 2 sucked balls.
Man With the Screaming Brain is horrendous.
Bruce Campbell has no charisma whatsoever and is a terrible actor.

Well... That's just like my opinion, man.

reply

loved army of darkness! and bubba ho-tep

and if i can find a copy of this somewhere i will no doubt like it

if u hate a movie by all means give a review but put a little effort into it

'i believe in Harvey Dent'

This was a brilliant comedy and if you didn't laugh than you have no taste.

A man on the move, and just sick enough to be totally confident.

The artistry of an actor is to appear real and to not appear to be in a film. Sadly most American actors can not do this because the film is about them as a selling point. The art of BC is that he can really act and lose that artifice, and at the same time be an actor. In part that is the underlying aspect of this film and that is why he has suchfan allegiance.

"you took the time out to come on here and start a brand new thread about how you didn't like a movie that wasn't even made for you"

Wasn't made for him? If someone purchases/rents a movie, then they are a consumer, products such as movies are made for consumers, this movie being the product and the consumer being the OP, this essentially means that he as a consumer was one of the people this movie was made for, so how dare you say who the movie was made for because technically it was made for everyone.

"What I don't understand and what I feel is really odd and sad is that you aren't a fan"

How do you know he's not a fan? Because he doesnt like army of darkness? Oh i guess i'm not a John Carpenter fan then ecause i didnt like 'Vampires', never mind the fact i own most of his movies on dvd. Believe it or not but you can be a fan of something even if you dont like every aspect of it.

"but in general the movie is specificly for one kind of audience"

Oh is it now? well if that was the case then why was it released to the general public rather than shiwn only to all those people who fall under the catagory of your 'One Kind audience'

You dont realise that it goes both ways and that you are being very ignorant to this person because somehow you can't accept the fact that they don't like AoD.

And for the Record, yes i am a Bruce Campbell fan, Yeah i liked the Evil dead movies and no i didnt like AoD but because i dont like one of his movies does that automatically deny me of being a fan? HELL NO!

Plus, as for the whole "Took the time to come on here and start a brand new thread about how you didn't like a movie" Nice speculation, but isnt that what alot of people do on websites like this? use up meaningless time voicing their opinions?

...oh and notice how i didnt point out how much of a F'ING HUGE fanboy you are with a screen-name like that...

"and let me guess you must be the monopoly guy, hey thanks for the free parking"

Stupidest argument I've ever read.
Have u heard of target audiences.
Not every product is for every consumer. Dog food is also a product and if u buy it you re a consumer , so does that mean that dog food is for you?
Dear god.

Someone has said it already, but "target audience"! This movie was made for a Bruce fans, it's a movie that references his movies, makes fun of them, himself and his fans, if you aren't a fan you are not going to get/like it. If I showed this movie to my friends they just would not get it as they've never seen a Bruce film. They wouldn't even know who he is!

Agree with you on this, can't say the OP is or isn't a fan based on what he's said.

Same as above, target audience. This movie is for Bruce fans. Sure it's great if someone who isn't a Bruce fan sees it and likes it, but non-Bruce fans is still not the target audience. Why do you think it's got crappy releasing? Bruce has had to take it on tour, it's hardly shown anywhere, because if it was put on 3000+ screens it would be a major flop, that many people just wouldn't want to see it.

I accept that they don't like AoD, but I also say that it's a similar type of humour and if someone (Even a Bruce fan) didn't like/get AoD then they possibly wouldn't like/get MNIB.

thx for the laughs :D

critic: "I don't like the movie because the jokes are poor, flat and lame!"

answer: "if you don't laugh while watching this masterpiece go and get a sense of humor!"

my opinion:

I love Bruce Campbells work...sayin work I mean things like Evil Dead, Bubba Ho-Tep, Running Time...

but flicks like Alien Apocalypse, Terminal Invasion, Man with the screaming brain are just awfull..

wuh? My Name is Bruce is supposed to be a parody on such movies? yeah thats right...but still the jokes are way under sitcom level...

reply

I recommend that everyone on this thread read "If Chins Could Kill" by Bruce Campbell. Say what you will about his acting, that book is awesome.

reply

imho there are 3 movies that fall into the category of worst film ever. I know, only one can be worst but i cant seperate them.

in order of viewing:
Solo: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0117688/
Disaster Movie: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1213644/
Lightspeed: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0822827/

And as a fan of BC, im sure that I will love this movie if it's as good in the parody style as AoD was.

just my 2 cents
