one of the finest films I've ever seen.

Terribly underrated and underrepresented. Mike O'Connell was absolutely hilarious. It was so beautifully put together, from the handmade signs to the lighting, the costumes and natural backgrounds. Even the score was impeccable, namely the piece playing as Mills sets the raft aflame. It's a terrible shame this amazing film isn't better known.

Accidentally came across it on hulu.

It's like a Monty Python sketch gone long & that's a good thing IMHO.

Peace In, Chill Out, Carry On...

Couldn't agree more. Just streamed it on Netflix. Remarkable film.

I agree. This was one of the finest films. It is now in my collection. In fact, I think I'll watch it now.

just finished it on Netflix. I was not expecting it to be nearly as odd as it was but that just made it better. the humor was wonderfully offbeat, the soundtrack was great, and the story itself was very rewarding. it did have it's rough spots here and there but it didn't take away from the overall film.

i agree that it was underrated and underrepresented but it wasn't a movie that was supposed to appeal to a lot of people i think

Gotta agree, I watched it for the first time last summer, I just finished watching it for the fifth time and finally got around to ordering it on Amazon. I had no problems with it, but I imagine most people's problem with it was O'Connell's performance. The last 30 minutes, or when the living wake actually starts is just... brilliant.
