Remember that moment during the Cloud vs. Sephiroth fight at the reactor when Cloud's eyes glowed green? Why did that happen? He hadn't been exposed to Mako yet, had he? No one seems to know the answer to this, so I'd appreciate any insight you guys can offer.

I'm not entirely 100% sure on this, but aren't all members of SOLDIER regardless of rank and class exposed to Mako? So like even when Cloud was just one of the blue uniform wearing foot soldiers he would have been exposed to Mako and/or Jenova cells. I'm not sure, but thats what I assumed.
shareYou're right. ALL members of SOLDIER (which are an elite fighting force) are treated with Mako. That is what makes them elite.
shareCloud was never actually in SOLDEIER tho. He was in Shinra's military but they were never treated with Mako. Inigomontoyas theory kinda makes sense tho.
EDIT: Sorry altho he was never in SOLDEIR he had the same experiments performed on him after he was captured by Shinra when he servived Sephiroth's destruction of Nibelheim =o)

The only thing I can think of is that the Jenova cells in Zack (as he a soldier first class) may have been transmitted through blood (as Sephiroth stabbed Zack then Cloud) or it could have just been a stylistic choice by the makers as he would eventually be made into part of the reunion by Hojo and therefore implanted with Jenova cells. Also who knows what being so close to Jenova could do to a person? Maybe that's why she was so well sealed in the reactor. It is a very good question and I think there is something more to Cloud since Sephiroth states he shouldn't have been able to withstand that wound. I think you'll have to wait till Crisis Core comes out to get a real answer. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Try a fansite like adventchildren.net for more information.

They are Mako engineered humans from the beginning (also remeber CLoud is one of a line of weird black clothed creatures that are drawn to Mako.)
