Best movie Video-game? Give me your opinion

I thought this one of the best movie games. Others are the Lord of the ring games were great and Spiderman 2 was pretty good. There are more I just can't think of any. King Kong while playing Jack was a little bit like Resident Evil because it is a survival game but not horror like RE. And only being able to holdd one gun at a time made it even more survival. And the Coms/A.I's helped you alot.

This is kind of old-school, but I think 'Jurassic Park' for the Sega Genesis was pretty outstanding. You know, for the time. I enjoyed the Grant levels more than I enjoyed the raptor levels.

I haven't played 'Kong' yet, but I hope to soon.

How can you guys miss Goldeneye 007?

I agree the old Jurassic park game rules, I remember then was my favorite game for Gen. Goldeneye was prob my favorite movie to game adapt that I ever played. I almost feel like buying a used N64 just to play the game again. Boy did they mess up that goldeneye 2 game, even though it was more just using the title to sell copies, I recall it really had nothing to do with the first game. Now that I think of it the video game for The Thing was pretty amazing, it captured that feeling of paranoia that the film pulled off so brillantly.

the warriors
that captured the mood of the 1979 classic

Goldeneye owns. I still play it from time to time.

reply

Goldeneye is a brilliant game! I still love it.

reply

the single player for goldeneye was extremely poor for the time it was released.

Goldeneye on the N64 is the obvious choice but if you like adventure games then try Blade Runner on PC.

Crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of the women!

I always wanted to play it. And I am an adventuregamer. Does Fate of Atlantis count? No?

when MK came before the movie. So it does not count

I really liked King Kong, but I think that Spiderman 2 might be one of the most kick ass movie games solely because of its free range.

Does Star Wars count? If it does, Battlefront and its sequel are amazingly awesome. The Harry Potter games, in my opinion, blow chunks.

I dunno, I just finished playing King Kong and was hugely disappointed! It didn't really take me that long to finish it, and I just thought that the game spent too much time running around the jungle shooting/spearing bugs! It just got a little boring and repetitive after a while, thank god eventually you get to play as Kong!

Anyone else disappointed? Or was I just expecting too much??

Goldeneye and The World is Not Enough are good. This year I liked Revenge of the Sith and King Kong. What was neat about Revenge of the sith was that it used no voice actors from the film yet the voice actors sounded just like them. Also I liked the extra Sith missions for Anakin (fighting Mace, killing the padawans/children, cin drallig). King Kong is definately the best though.

Riddick wasn't a MOVIE-game, though a license. Well I think I know atleast ONE dull moment in Goldeneye 007. It was the second snow-level and you had to look for some darn key to enter that big building with the radar or somethin'...

I loved Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay. Though technically not a direct play-through of events in the movies (maybe that's a good/bad thing, depending on one's opinion of the movies), the game's storyline was a prequel to "Pitch Black." Most movie games/movie tie-ins generally suck. But COR:EFBB had great graphics, great story, great gameplay. I liked the game better than the movies.

I don't know what defines a "movie" game, anyway, since most games take a lot of liberty with the a movie's storyline in the first place, usually to make the gameplay more compelling or to stretch a 2-hour movie into an 8+ hour experience.

BEST movie/movie-related games:
1. Chronicles of Riddick (PC)
2. King Kong (XBOX360)
3. Spider Man 2 (XBOX)
4. Goldeneye - we still dust off the N64 for 4-player fragfests.
5. Aliens vs. Predator 2 - okay, definitely just a license of movie property, but...wow.

WORST games:
1. Trespasser (Jurassic Park license)(PC) - could've been great, but most PC's ran it with a framerate like a slide show.
2. Die Hard: Nakatomi Plaza (PC)
3. The Sum of All Fears (PC)

i luv king kong spider-man 2 and enter the matrix

What about the masses of videogames LucasArts made in the 90's? Almost all were based on Star Wars; Space fighting or Indina Jones adventures. Oh, and I remeber this one, Yoda Stories...
Blade Runner and The Fate of Atlantis are my favourites.

Michael Jackson's Moonwalker! Ooooo-hooo!

No, really. Goldeneye 64 is always a classic. And I liked Enter the Matrix too despite some of its glitches. Speaking of which, is Path of Neo any good?

AVP2 and The Thing were great games, still own both on PC.

King Kong is pretty awesome. My other favourites are Spider-Man 2 for PS2, Spider-Man 3 for PC (it's a port of the Xbox 360 version) and Lord of the Rings: Return of the King for PS2.

reply

I think King Kong is a great game; King Kong never gets old.

reply

This game is fun. I hadn't played video games for many years and I ended up winning a PS2 along w/ this game in a King Kong contest when the film was released. I got kind of hooked on it back then but ended up selling my PS2. (Flash forward: five years later)

Recently, I bought a used PS2 at a garage sale and I found this game for .99 at Gamestop. I bought a bunch of other games but this one is unique because there are so many different threats plus I love the fact that all the major actors from the film participated in the game....

It's a lot of fun but that V-rex is a bitch...
