My idea for a sequel plot!

Call this fan fiction if you want.
I call it a great idea for a sequel, and I really hope it will happen one day.
Haven’t been able to figure everything out though, so feel free to fill in any blanks.

The great thing is that the first film left the ending quite open, which means they could easily make the sequel without having to worry about the actors appearing older. It could easily have gone a couple of years between them.

So a few years have gone by and David and Millie have settled down, seemingly not having to worry about paladins anymore.
Millie is now an experienced jumper as well.

Eventually Griffin will have to get lose and come home again.
I believe he's plotting a revenge against Mary for killing his family, and as such he's planning to let her suffer the same way he did.
His idea is to kidnap or kill Sophie, so he goes to their house.
She turns out to be an innocent and really nice girl though, so he starts to doubt this decision to be the right one.

Meanwhile, Roland has managed to escape the grand canyon and since he is now aware that Mary is David's mother and that she has deliberately sabotaged their plans, he plots to kill her. (This is the biggest time concern though, since he wouldn't survive this long in the desert. Sure there are ways to work around that though)

When paladins start storming into Mary's house, killing Sophie’s father, Griffin realizes that he and Sophie are both hunted by them, so he helps her escape.
He explains to her what jumpers are and exactly what it is her mother does for a living, which she of course refuses to believe at first.

When Mary realizes what's going on, and that her daughter is vanished, she reaches out to David for help.

Also due to his previous experience with jumpers Mark has now joined the paladins, and since he and Millie still keep in touch he knows where to find them.
When he finds out Millie is now a jumper too he puts the blame on David for turning her "evil" and decides to kill him.

Eventually Sophie and Griffin run into an army of jumpers, who have been preparing for battle for years.
When they find out who Sophie is they want to kill her, but Griffin, once again, steps in to defend her.
I strongly believe that Sophie is no damsel in distress though but rather badass and can take good care of herself.
Instead she turns in favor for the jumpers and want to help them fight the paladin, including her own mother, when she realizes that what Griffin told her was all true.

Naturally, because Hollywood, they fall in love, which sets up for some awkward family dinners in the future…
And wouldn’t Jamie Bell and Kristen Stewart make a really cool on-screen couple?

David manages to find the two and again starts fighting Griffin, for threatening his family and “kidnapping” his sister.
Sophie stops him and they have a brief reunion.
She refuses to let him “save” her though. As she wants to stay and fight with the jumpers.

David opposes to the war jumpers, since he still feels like no one at all should have to die.
Making him and Sophie enemies.

The movie’s climax would of course be the jumper/paladin war.
Griffin realizes that seeing Sophie become a killer, like herself, would be the ultimate revenge against Mary, but he also doesn’t want to put her through the same thing as he’s gone through himself, so he stops her from killing a paladin when she has the chance.

The war jumpers of course see them as traitors and go after them.
Mary tries to save them, and the jumpers end up killing her instead.

Mark tries to kill David, but Millie stops him.
Roland shows up and tries to kill her. Making Mark sacrifice himself to save her.

I’m not quite sure how it all would end though.
It feels like it has a lot of loose plotlines that needs to be tied together.
Who wins? Does Roland die?
I honestly don’t know.

But the overall idea is something I’d really want to see, and I’m sure it would make an awesome movie.

Do you guys agree?

Millie isn't a jumper and barring some miraculous blood transfusion from David granting her that ability, she never will be.

Griffin should be dead as there would've been far more electricity where David trapped him than any of the Paladin's devices. They'd have to explain how he got out of there but they should've shown him dead to begin with.

It would've been better in the film if David's mother was also a jumper (and thus Sophie as well) to propagate a sequel. A jumper working for the Paladins would give even more story ideas.
