Wow, David wouldn't even save those people on TV?

Those people in that huge flood / Tsunami that are stranded on their homes when he's watching the news. what a total douchebag.

Well David from all that I gathered was an unbelievably entitled POS. So I wasn't shocked he thought with the pecker between his legs the majority of the film.

That was the point. Once he discovered his powers, he became very spoiled and self-centered. Just has powers doesn't mean he's a hero. He wasn't a villain either. He only cared about himself and used his powers for self-interest.

It's not like he can save everybody. Besides, even though he didn't yet know about them, that sort of behaviour would have put him on the bad guys' radar even sooner. I doubt they'd give a Jumper a pass just because he does nice things.

If you read the jumper books, they explain that Davy can only go places he's been to before - or places within eyeshot of wherever he is. He can't jump to a distant location displayed on his TV screen. He couldn't teleport directly from the street into an interior room of a building he's never visited. That's why he had to go in and scout the bank vaults first before robbing them. Davy couldn't travel instantly to Japan, for example, until he took a plane there like everyone else, just one time.

All of the characters were inconsiderate and awful. Jaimie Bell teleports a double-decker bus into the desert and flips it over, nobody ever shows any concern for the driver or its passengers who were probably severely injured. They later teleport a junker truck with its innocent driver to the middle of a warzone in Chechnya, and we watch as a tank crushes the truck with the driver still inside. Hayden jumps that drunk guy into the bank vault where he could've died of dehydration. Probably a dozen civilians are recklessly murdered due to the Jumpers. I'd be thinking like Samuel L Jackson too; they're pretty awful people.
