Bloody Benders

Has anyone ever heard of the notorious family in 1800s Kansas called the Bloody Benders? Family of John, John Jr., and mother and daughter, both named Kate that killed about 11 people in Kansas when they stopped to stay at their inn? I haven't seen this movie, "The Grift" but I'm wondering if anyone knows if this is based off of that family.

when I first read the cast list and characters that was first thing I thought of. Glad I wasn't the only one.

I've heard the story. An episode of the 1960's show "The Big Valley" was based on the family. If you Google "The Bloody Benders," there is a lot of information on them.
