I enjoyed This Movie!

I actually liked this movie. The acting was great, thanks to Mena Suvari, and the action level and the intensity of the zombies was fantastic. I think it's funny how everyone is complaining about how fast the zombies move in Day of the Dead but nobody really complained about the zombies in Dawn of the Dead. The faster the zombies, the more intense and exciting the movie is. Now do not get me wrong, i love the original Day of the Dead and all the other George A. Romero films but seriously people, it's 2010, and the 'zombie' are going to evolve from their slow limp to a faster movement because the younger people in today's world do not really care about Night of the Living Dead, and the original Dawn of the Dead and Day of the Dead. They want to see zombies that are more exciting.

I agree, I just watched this last night, and I thought it was a great movie, although I have to admit I've never seen the original, but hey, got my heart pumping so I give it a 10.

I will TRY not to nerdrage on you, but no promises. ARE YOU *beep* *beep* ME. TEN? As in ten out of ten? I'm sorry but that's an insult to the whole film industry. You are the reason we have all these films that are complete *beep* they're only there to not even rip off but shamelessly COPY AND PASTE old (but good) ideas from movies that DON'T need to be remade. however directors that have great ideas and a passion for film, unless they are extremely lucky or have plenty of connections in the industry, are left out in the cold, forced to work with little to no budgets, their work never seen outside small audiences at private screenings and obscure festivals. All audiences need these days is a teenage girl, some fast-paced action (doesnt matter if its good), only-ok-for-$18-mill-budget special effects and a sprinkle of glitter.

good thing i made no promises about that nerdrage thing.

sure it's only natural for the next evolution of zombies to be them all turning into Spider-Man. give me a break. it's not like "they were fast" is the only problem with the movie. there was a new plot hole in every scene. it was a truly awful script all around.

even if all you need to consider a movie "great" is a bunch of mindless average- at-best gore and action there are piles and piles of movies that do it much much better than this.

It wasn't terrible, but is probably the worst zombie movie I've ever seen. I have no problem with fast zombies - honestly, Dawn of the Dead (the newer one) was awesome and incorporated the fast zombie thing. It adds more action to the genre. But I thought the jumping-on-the-walls and defying gravity were a bit silly.

I also felt like it ripped off 28 Days Later a bit, with the whole virus thing. But 28 Days was an awesome movie with great performances and a more believable plot. The intelligence/pre-zombification memories is a good idea for the genre but was poorly executed with "Bud".

It was also probably the most hopeful ending to a zombie movie I've ever seen.

This movie was entertaining to watch, but not a quality film.

Agreed it wasn't terrible, but if it's the worst zombie movie you've seen you should check out the following -

Dawn of the Living Dead
House of the Dead
Zombie Flesheaters 2 and 3 (aka Zombi 3 and 4)
Return of the Living Dead 4 and 5
Survival of the Dead

Glorious zombie trash, guaranteed to have you getting out the eye-bleach and saying "why why why...?"

I hated this movie. Once Ving Rhames was out of the picture I didn't like or care about a single character. And I'm sorry, but Mena Suvari is not convincing as a badass soldier. I didn't buy it for a second. The kid playing her brother is one of the worst actors I've ever seen. I love zombie flicks but this one sucked.

from the amount of logic errors made in your post i have deducted that you are an uneducated moron.

oh and

younger people in today's world do not really care about Night of the Living Dead, and the original Dawn of the Dead and Day of the Dead.

not only you are wrong but even if you were right the new generation would be doomed.

It's a *beep* opinion you moron. Everyone has one. In all honesty I prefer the slow paced zombies but the fast pace just adds to the suspense of the film. The new generation is already doomed with all the crappy movies out today anyways.

Agree with the OP...the faster zombies made for ratcheting up the tension and there was plenty of violence in the movie. Some of the classics only save a few scenes for graphic violence sacrificing it to put up a dull storyline. DOD generally had a good pace of action.

If you take it as a mindless fun movie it's great. I just watched it and was laughing the whole way through.

are you *beep* kidding me is this a joke. They took one of if not the best zombie movie ever and raped it. plz tell me you where relly high and drunk when you wrote this. oh and you can still make a great fast moving zombie film like dawn remake. my god

reply

You are absolutely right. I like Dawn of the Dead as much as anyone, but this is very watchable too. I give it a 8 out of 10. Great cast, good pace.
