This is the third English language movie I've seen Emmanuelle Beart in. (The others being Vinyan and Mission: Impossible). She's great in French films but in all three English ones she's been awkward and out of place, especially when she's talking.
shareFrench is her native language so naturally she is going to sound a bit different when speaking English. I only wish i could speak French as well as she can speak English! :)
shareLet's just say a dialect coach (I mean a really good one) wouldn't hurt. I know she's playing a French girl in New York however if as she says, she has been in the city for a few years--the accent would not be SO pronounced. Yes, Henri-Geoges Clouzot indeed!
She is great at acting though inspite of her awful accent.
