Spoilers: How likely is it that New York papers would announce

the murder of a homeless, ex cabbey on their front page? With all the people that are murdered in NYC every day, just how likely is it someone like Harvey Keitel's character, essentially a 'nobody' would be put on the front page like that? You'd think it was the Mayor that was murdered or something.
I also wonder what kind of paper would publish a detailed, uncensored picture of the victim's dead body??? Not only would it hurt police investigations to literally show a picture of the body and the crime scene, but I imagine it would cause an outrage among a lot of people that would find the pictures very gruesome and horrific.

This is just one of the things about this movie that I thought were absolutely ridiculous. The implication that Harvey Keitel's character actually was the killer was another absurdity.

I just rented te movie from redbox (HEY it was only a dollar for aday rental lol) And i did it b/c im obsessed with norman reedus. The movie could have been really great. The story line was there they just did a poor job pulling it off. I liked the twist that Harvey was the killer I just wish they would have revealed it diferently and elaborated. We never found out WHY he did it. The paper wouldnt publish a crime scene photo either. I live in a small country town and if they wouldnt do it here im pretty sure they wont do it in a big city. I think my main problem with the movie was y did norman have a male dog named vicky? Was that something that was lost in translation? I had to watch it to cross it off of Normans IMDB list but it was just a weird movie with to many plot holes. The name of the movie was A CRIME and they didnt even tell anything about the crime other than it happened! How was the cab fixed, y did he do it, etc. I also have a problem with the fact Norman saw the cabbies jacket, ring, and dent but didnt notice the cab number???? REALLY?

I feel you! Norman Reedus is great. This movie was not! I had the same reaction as the OP- 'Death of Local Cabbie' plastered up everywhere like the mayor was assassinated - ridiculous! Then the crime scene photo printed? Come on.

And where did Harvey get that car at the end of the movie? Did he steal it? And did that chick have a freakin job other than her court-ordered community service? How is she paying for cab rides and how does she pay rent?

As you say, it could have been done really well, and I can definitely suspend belief when watching a movie, but not when it gets ridiculous like that.

And, if she had a court-ordered community service, they certainly had her finger prints in the database, and she left tons at the crime scene. Seems it was easier to identify Roger (who had no ID) than her as a primary suspect.
