Terrible Southern Accent

The terrible southern accent of the actor distracts from a somewhat interesting film. I have heard excerpts from the real Mark David Chapman and he does not talk like Truman Capote. He grew up near Atlanta Georgia and the accent he used in the film is just not right.

Agreed.

yeah I agree as well....after watching this film today I couldnt remember how the real mark chapman actually sounded like and how his behaviour was...so I searched for the video interviews, since I seriously doubted he was as portrayed on this film, and I found out, I was right, it is so far away from reality.

He doesn't sound as Truman Capote at all, as you pointed out (which btw made me laugh), and also, his body language seems completely from a normal person. On the movie, his talking and body language scream out loud "hey dudes, I'm so *beep* looney I will start throwing granades to everyone right *beep* now!"

I mean, I cannot imagine people (Jude, Paul, Jose, Steve, etc) around this bloke (as quirky as portrayed in the film), NOT calling the police to look after this wacko, specially if he's been lurking that long and like for the second or third time asking for john lennon, awaring that it's a building with many famous people coming in and out....I mean, I think his behaviour couldn't have been that spooky and suspicious in the real events, and proof of it, is his "in the normal line" behaviour of the real chapman I found on the video interviews

His voice sounded so stupid. I was thinking it was interesting how Jared Leto was making his voice until I heard the real Chapman. I admire Jared Leto as an actor but he was trying too hard...
