I won't even give them that much credit.

Although it does seem like one of those groups that tries to just suck on purpose for the humor appeal.

And also, a lot of things try to be bad for a humor point. It's not that unheard of.

They do their own thing, no matter what people think of them. I LOVE thier humor..... They don't "try" to suck, they are just being themselves... the Kings..... Hip Hop Pioneers.....Role Models....Inspiration..... Whatever you want to call them..... They to me are the WORLD.... The BEST....

People who say *beep* like that (that they try to suck or whatever) are ones that know very little about the Beastie Boys.

Chances are their only knowledge of the B-Boys is "Brass Monkey" or "Fight For Your Right," songs which are juvenile and simple, and also off their first album over twenty years ago. If one would actually listen to any of their albums (or all preferably) you would find they are incredibly talented.

I think they fact that they are white and now over 40, people who don't know much about the B-Boys assume they can't be good because they perform rap music, when in reality their music spans multiple genres and cannot really be pigeonholed as "rap."
