SIMPLICITY!

I enjoy AOE3 and it's expansions incredibly so, but does anyone ever just go back to AOE and play through it?

Even 10+ years after it's release, I find myself incredibly entertained by it's simplicity and fun! It's amazing that a game with inferior graphics, gameplay, sound, features, etc. etc. can still provide so much entertainment so long after it's release...

I really wish they would take the newer AOE3 engines and apply them to games that start BEFORE the events of AOE1 and slowly work their way up to the 1600's... Instead of spanning nomadic eras to revolutionary times, I want to see much more time put into the nomadic days and middle ages. I'm talking about a minimum of 4 games AND expansions (8 total) covering all the events from building your first hut in a grassy plain to the renaissance AOE style but with the newer AOE3 exp engines.

I know it won't happen, but a man can hope, can't he?
