Who the hell voted for The Wizard Of Oz?

Like Jimmy Carr said, you should go to bed early! It is not scary, neither is Snow White or frigging Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!

I know' It's very annoying the way films like
- Star Wars
- Wizard of Oz
- Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
- Snow White
- Dr. Who
- Eastenders!
I think it's stupid! [SPOILER] Even The Shining's 'Heeere's Johnny!' Isn't scary. If they put anything in from the Shining it has to be those two freaky girls in blue dresses. They freak the s--t out of me.

The wizard of OZ and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang both actully came ABOVE The League of Gentleman and Jam/Jaaaaam!!!

Hmmm.... yes, let's just try gteting a few kids to watch TWOZ and Jam. I wonder which one will scare them more? I just couldn't possibly figure that one out!

It should go by HOW SCARY IT IS, not votes from idiots who only ever watch Countdown and BBC One 6pm news!

Come on... try to remember what it was like to be a kid watching the Wizard of Oz for the first time. When I saw those flying monkeys take off with Dorothy, it scared the heck out of me! I have since grown to me a major horror movie lover, with a massive collection from all across the world. Personally, if I were asked to pick the most frightening scenes of all time, as an adult, I don't think The Wizard of Oz would have occured to me. But, when I think back on the effect it had on me when I first saw that scene, I can understand why they'd add it to the list. It must have been pretty bizarre when it was first released. A true classic!

It may not seem scary now, but my Mom told me that when she was a kid growing up, they showed it every year on TV (She's 50 now). She would watch it every year, and every year she would have the same dream about the Wicked Witch of the West coming after her in the house...So it certainly could be viewed as scary to an earlier generation.

^^^^ How weird, my mom would have the same nightmare after the annual viewing of The Wizard of Oz when she was a little girl.

Lol, if you dont see how this film made the list, YOU obviously have no idea about cinema. This film came out in 1939, and to have a Technicolor film with a green witch and an army of Winged Monkeys was quite a sight for viewers back then. Not to mention a young girls house being picked up in a tornado, with her in it. Movies like the classic Dracula and Frankenstein are by no means scary today, but in that day and time, it was something else. The stories are endless of people who were effected by the darkness that The Wizard of Oz had, and most of them were seeing it in black and white on the small screen.

It certainly has an affect on the younger audience even today. My 6 year old niece and 4 year old nephew have seen The Wizard of Oz and Frankenstein all the way thru. However, they laughed at Frankenstein's monster and thought he was funny; yet, the witch was something they spoke of as if to be feared and taken seriously.

I guess different people take it different ways, but I certainly believe it is worthy of a spot on the list.
