Any legal action against Zinda?

Is there any news on whether the makers of Old Boy are going to sue the makers of Zinda?

i really hope they take legal action. ive watched and worshipped oldboy, and i think sanjay gupta shud get his pants sued off him

Zinda is atmost a decent Movie. But Oldboy is pretty Good that is only if you as a Person are not to radical thinking Person. That said i as a not radical thought at watching Oldboy the first time that its pretty sick. But later re-thought about it as an Film and therefor didn`t took it pretty serious. The Main Part of Oldboy was taken out and was changed becouse the contend could probably couse some Cinemas in India to Burn down i guess and that is also the biggest problem that Zinda has and why it completly failed but watch for yourself.
What i find strange is that in Movie Connections of the Film it isn`t listed as Remake but as a Reference with a side note stating it to be an Indian Version of Oldboy. That`s kinda stupid more than 70% of the Movie is 1:1 taken from Oldboy i have seen Movies with 30% of contend taken from them but they are listed as direkt remakes and this one should also be like that.

They can't sue

1) The company that made Zinda is no longer in business, any lawsuit won would put a lien against a company that is already bankrupt and has no assets to pay with anyway.

2) Indian law is a nightmare to prove copyright, the original film makers would need to prove that they had actually registered the copyright IN INDIA and not just in another country to even have a chance of winning.

This isn't the first bollywood rip off of another film that has gotten away without a lawsuit, it's simply one of the more well known.

At most the Old Boy owners can attempt to block distribution of Zinda in other countries, but they are likely never to be able to get anything from the makers in India or to stop its continued production in that country.

Besides, at this point it would likely cost more to even take them to court to stop Zinda from being sold. The controversy has only led to higher sales of Old boy, so at this point, it really is not likely that there will ever be a court case over it.
