not good

I didn't think this movie was very good. I could never understand the point they were trying to get across. These two women were both having terrible days, one seemed to bring it on herself more than the the other. The one in the SUV was a bad driver, never kept her eyes or thoughts on the road, she was having family issues that it seemed like she created herself. At some points I felt bad, but I always felt much worse for the other one. She made some mistakes too. She couldn't keep her cool. Who can blame her though? She was the one who got cut off and lost her job for no good reason. The acting was believable, but overall, this movie didn't make any sense. The ending was terrible. What are we supposed to learn from it? Sure road rage is a problem, but it's not the serious issue this film made it out to be with that quote at the beginning. I think this film was way over the top and lacked direction.

The plot is kinda similar to Changing Lanes, but stuck in 2nd gear! The 2 leads
were not bad,but the ending had no sense whatsoever!

reply

So true! I've seen 2 other lifetime movies with similar plots about road rage. It's been done before. Both leads are talented actresses, but no one could inject sense into this movie.

I thought this movie was great. You have to pick a side, do you route for the single mom with a handycaped child or the woman with a family falling apart because she has to much on her plate. I was with the single mom, her day was crappy because she was cut off in traffic and everything escalated from that one thing. Granted her ex and all of his crap had nothing to do with what happened. I felt sorry for the other woman occasionaly until she did the deed (if you saw the movie you know what i'm talking about). uncalled for! yea she got hurt in the accident too. I think that biotch should be in jail, they should have told the rest of the story!

reply

That's the thing. I didn't which side to root for. They didn't demonize either woman enough. At the beginning, I thought the one in the SUV was going to be the bad guy, which she was, but she wasn't made out to be all evil. There were parts where I felt bad for her too. Although in the end, I'm like "why isn't she in jail". What she did was shocking and unexpected.

It's a toss up. The stories of these women's lives were fairly intersting and like I said before, it was well-acted, but the story lacked direction and conviction. It could have been so much better. A waste of talent in my opinion.

**Possible spoilers below... possibly.**

Yeah, I was spending a lot of my night trying so freakin' hard to come up with the main theme of this movie. I managed to come up with the obvious one of "Don't get road rage" but the way it was executed annoyed me. For instance, if you think about the way it was conveyed, it was saying that single mothers who don't have a job or working car are more likely to get road rage than rich biotch women who can't drive. I'm sure that's probably reading way too into it, but it just seemed that the ending and the message created by the ending was way too unfair.

I also think that the woman in the red car should have had just as much of a chance to fix her life as the woman in the SUV did, especially since everything that happened to her was the SUV woman's fault (until the chasing scene and whatnot). They should have both had a chance at the end. Grr.

*From now on, assume there are spoilers.*

Exactly. I'm glad I'm not the only one to feel this way. It seems like they just felt like making a movie about the crappiest day to ever exist without including a point or a moral or even a consistent theme. From the way it ended (so unfairly), maybe they wanted us to think "life's unfair". What kind of theme is that though? We all know life is unfair and don't need a movie to remind us.

I can understand how you arrived at the conclusion about single mothers. At the beginning, we're on her side, but then there are some inconsistencies, and then she flips out, and then she dies. What are we supposed to do with that? This movie was a mess. If whoever made it thought it through, it could have been good. But it seems like they were making it up as they went along, filling time until the ultimate crash.

I have a totally unrelated question that I don't think requires a new thread. Was the SUV woman's daughter pregnant? I forget how old she was supposed to be, but at the beginning whe she's sick, and is talking to her mom on the stairs, I was certain she was going to blurt out "I'm pregnant". I couldn't tell looking at the girl at the end if she was pregnant along with the mom.

The message of this film was to prioritize your life and view things with a more critical eye, instead of acting on emotion and perhaps making a mistake you cant change. both of these women moved through their days without truly thinking about things. just "hurry up and go, go, go" "get ahead" etc. its a story about how bad decisions made in haste can ruin your life. its not about who was the bad guy. thats what i got out of it.

"Sargeant Hulka is OUR big toe!"

Okay. I can see that. The thing is, if you had to tell me that's the point of the film, then the film didn't do a good job conveying the message. I wasn't the only one who thought it lacked direction. I think they could have made it clearer if that's really what they were going for.

I was really disappointed with this film. It was just so pointless. I got the point, but I just didn't care. Kathleen Robertson and the other lead were too good for the crappy plot.

reply

Yeah, what a waste of good talent, that's for sure!

reply

I don't think that the girl was preggers I just thought that she had her first period or something

reply

Oh. Thanks. They never really elaborated on that. Another missed opportunity.

I realize this post's almost 3 years old, but hope you're still around, KAnnD86. What were the other 2 lifetime movies you're referring to here?

I enjoyed "Last Exit" (rated it a solid "7") and would probably enjoy the other similar movies you are referring to. Cheers,

I'm still here! One of them was called Road Rage with Yasmine Bleeth. I'm sorry I don't remember the other one. It had a redhead who was being stalked. If I think of it, I'll come back here to report.

Thanks, KAnnD86. I'll check out "Road Rage" when I can.

Hi, I remember the other movie! It took me a while but I finally figured it out. It was called A Deadly Encounter starring Laura Leighton.

I believe Diana thought Beth was going to kill her at the end. Beth went beserk with the telescope before(alot of people witnessed this) and Diana thought Beth was there to finish her off at the accident scene - not help her. I say it was "self defense".
