Should have had a better ending **SPOILERS**

The movie should have included Diana's trial, or at least a blurb at the end credits stating whether she went to prison or not. I think she probably got off. There were plenty of witnesses to testify to Beth's attack on Diana's car with the telescope, and as the cops pointed out at the end, the 911 call had Beth saying it was all her fault.

But I think if Beth had lived, it would have been a wake-up call for her. No matter how sorry for her I felt, most of the things that happened to her were of her own making. She was an overwhelmed single mom who took such good care of her son that she couldn't take care of herself.

Diana was a real b***h! I hated it when she told Beth "I don't care what's going on, sweetheart, just move the car!" or something like that. Who did Diana think she was, talking down to her that way? I don't blame Beth for trashing Diana's car and I sort of cheered her on!

What about Beth, getting herself pregnant in her senior year in high school, unmarried and without credentials to further herself? This is a serious epidemic in North America, teenage girls with low self-esteem's getting pregnant as a remedy for it. They need to get the book thrown at them every now and then. It could serve as a wakeup call.

You mean they should be arrested?

Yeah

What for? Getting pregnant without having a husband isn't illegal, though it seems some people would like it to be. And a woman doesn't get pregnant on her own, in case you weren't aware.

Uh, Dan, she didn't "get herself pregnant". It takes TWO to get the job done. Or, I suppose if it was an immaculate conception or she somehow squandered all of her savings in HS to get IVF or something, which I doubt what was what happened in Beth's situation.

What about her boyfriend, who didn't help her? All he did was lecture her on how she never helped herself, but did he help her? Why was she raising HIS and HER son in poverty, when he obviously had a decent education and job. He was BUYING a new house, for goodness sakes, while she's living from paycheck to paycheck, working for a jerk boss.

I thought the ending was fine.

I liked the ending, too.

Why? Because Diana is pretty & the all-American mom?

Second post I've seen like this.

I found Beth easily the more attractive of the two. Even with dirt smudges on her face from running after the bicycle messenger, Beth was still the more attractive.

And Beth had a son who she loved dearly and he loved her dearly. And anyway, this movie was set in Canada. What does all-American have to do with it? lol

Beth made her own mistakes, that were not even closely related to Diana being around. Beth is the one who lost it and became violently aggressive, not Diana. It sounds like someone has an envy problem for Diana being management. Beth caused the bulk of her own problems. Her behavior is what got her shot. Quit making this a class thing, when it went to behavior. There are all kinds of *beep* out there. Deal with it. Unless they get violent it is best to ignore and forget them.

Huh? I think your reply was meant for aquarius blue as I didn't say anything about it being a class thing. As this post was nearly 3 years old for me (4 for the one you meant to respond to), I barely remember the movie, just was commenting on the other woman being attractive.
