comments on sfx, scenery, props, etc,

The first thing I noted on this movie was its depiction of scenes from that era. I came to imdb to try and learn if thye actually used stock footage and/or old movies (perhaps b/w films that were then colorized).

The scenes on the large streets with old stores and old cars and trolleys and so on were very impressive. I'm surprised that no one else has commented on this as it seems the most impressive aspect of the film.

I agree that the computer graphic effects were quite impressive. However, in the two scenes at Ueno Station, the artificiality of the crowds of people are quite apparent. If you look closely you will see people walking in a very robotic manner.
