Hoth Rasiley

I just stumbled across a GREAT song this morning- Hoth Rasiley from this movie. It's been on repeat for hours now on my playlist. It's very catchy and yesteryear sounding, haha. Except for the english parts (insufferable!) this is a very good song, IMO. Shankar and Shreya are at the TOP of their game here!

But I made a dreadful mistake-
I haven't seen this movie so I just youtubed the video for this song and was extremely disappointed. The same "club scene-one sexy girl-two drooling men" format that I've seen 186 758 times!!! How unoriginal and tacky for such a melodious song. Bollywood is doing amazingly HORRIBLE things with movies (and music) lately, I am often ashamed to call myself a fan and embrace Bollywood as a proud Indian girl. I was almost turned off from my great find when I saw that video- thus my mistake, I shouldn't have youtubed it, I will know better now when I find another gem like this one, I will remain ignorant as to how Bollywood has ruined it on screen and be content with the images my mind deems to conjure up!

Just had to voice this, thanks.

i agree with you, the song has such a great tune and beat and was hoping they would have a bit more traditional dancing to it and considering shes a mother of two that she would atleast cover up. its these type of women that come on screen for 2 seconds n make it so arkward to watch infront of the family

Yes I agree! These music videos now are so far from the classic Indian culture, I get embarrased to watch with my dad and brother (with whom I share my love of movies). You have to go to time period epics (like Mangal Pandey, Devdas...etc) to beautifully picturize the indian culture now, and they are few and far between.

Though the songs themselves are not bad (again, those epics have the BEST scores) they are ultimately ruined by the jarring american rap song image that we see all the time now, where once fiercely talented actors (SRK, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgan) are now baring their chests, dying their hair and rapping in non-sensical english alongside skimpily clad models and pageant winners.

It's so distasteful to me!
