Oh, I didn't know the charachters were from Krypton.

Superhero movies are fantasy movies. I can also watch movies about ghost, supernatural, giant monster movies, etc. knowing that it is purely a fantasy movie. But when I watch an action or martial arts movie, I expect the fight sequences to be at least physically possible. I never thought of watching this or "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Tiger" like they were cartoons.

Very poorly of course.

...it may be worth mentioning that pretty much all action movies have some fantasy in them . It is hard to see how a one-man army can defeat a bunch of unknown soldiers in reality, but it is done all the time in the movies.

One possible explanation is given below in the thread by another user. I tend to see wuxia films to be the asian version of superhero films. Usually, the explanation is that those high skilled martial arts warriors can channel a kind of energy that would allow flight, and other skillsets.

Study Asian history and you'll understand. I'm not going to explain it myself because I have neither the time nor desire to educate you. =P

In Taoism (an Asian philosophy) there's the idea that if you get in tune with nature you can manipulate it. The force of nature is called "The Tao" and is what nature is made out of. So, a person can use the forces of nature to fly and other gain other powers.

If you think about Jesus he had powers much like a Tao master. He could walk on water, heal people, etc. It's suggested by some that Jesus, the myth, was generated by stories from Asia about The Buddha and other characters.
