I can't believe how awesome this movie was. The characters, the battles, the epic storyline, the hot chicks. It's like everything I've ever thought was cool was rolled into one movie. My only complaint is the dialogue was a little hokey at certain points but that could have just been some translation problems. Easily overlooked for such a great movie.
Now I just gotta figure out which one of the girls I want to marry...

The film is unfortunately ruined by awkward, extremely bad fighting choreography and ridiculous, laughable wire scenes.
You don't have to be a martial arts expert, but the basics are required when you want to do fighting scenes. None of the actors possessed this.
Moreover, trying to copycat.
In superlative terms it belongs to the other end of the spectrum, i.e. worst.

shareI agree with you. This was a fantastic film. I see others dont agree with us but thats their opinion. This turned me on to Korean cinema and ive enjoyed many films that i never wouldve seen.
sharei thought it was pretty good myself. Yes, it became somewhat obvious that wire-work was used instead of green-screen or some other computer-generated effects, but otherwise, i liked the characters, the story, the choreographed martial arts sequences, etc. I think it would have helped if i had some general understanding of Korean ancient history though. Some of the references to Balhae and the Georan escaped me until I looked them up online.
