the red paint on the fence

okay, i haven't seen this movie yet, obviously since it doesn't air until later tonight, but i keep seeing commercials. every time i see one, i think, what killer would spend his time at a crime scene painting an evil face in red paint somewhere nearby? does he carry around a giant stencil and spray can? maybe he's just a talented artist that can whip out a painting like that in no time. i'm interested to see what the killer's methods are lol. has anyone else wondered about this? (probably not lol.)
