Finished it, need some info on the story (SPOILERS)

Ok, three days ago I've completed it, but there are some things I'd like to be explained:

1. What was in the water everyone was talking in the first half?

2. What happened to Jankowski?

3. So who is the guy you play for?

4. What was that big ball in the sarcophages?

5. I didn't get one flashback at the end. Is the main character son of Alma like Fettel or was that the memmory of Fettel himself?

6. The full info on Alma you could get.

1. If you listen to the phone conversation in the lab with the gas leak, they explain that Moody was following a lead that really wasn't anything. People reported feeling nauseated and leaving the area because of Alma's presence, not because of any chemical leak.

2. Jankowski probably got killed in the water treatment plant. There is a skeleton in the underground room that might be him, where you see Alma run past the tunnel and again when you go to the skeleton.

3. If you mean the main character, you are the first prototype created from Alma's DNA. You have high reflexes and you were probably the result of the Icarus program.

4. The big ball is where Alma was kept so that her psychic abilities could be controlled. They only took her out of it twice, to give birth to the prototypes.

5. Yes, you are Fettel's older brother.

6. Alma was Harland's daughter. Dissler realized she had psychic abilities and they started doing experiments. They put her in a coma, made her carry genetically engineered babies and then induced labor. She was only 8 years old when the first prototype was born. A few years later she gave birth to Fettel and almost died. They put her back in the Vault, and after the first synchronicity event when they lost control of Fettel they pulled the plug. She died sisx days later. When they reopened the vault they lost contact with everyone they sent in, and then Fettel went crazy, so obviously she was either fooling the sensors inside her ball or she was really dead, but she escapes at the end of the game. The demons are her psychic attack but probably aren't the full extent of her powers.

reply

If she really wanted to kill the main character (IE: You) she probably would have.

Thnx for the info ,floormatt.

Actually, I remember Moody's phone message and it went something to the tune of: "I checked for the compounds that you requested and they are present and at high levels". Obviously this means there was something in the water but I haven't put together what it was or why it was there. Maybe that question will be answered in F.E.A.R. 2!

reply

"She was only 8 years old when the first prototype was born."

I believe the computer message said they put her in the vault when she was eight, and the main character was born when she was fifteen. Having a kid at eight would be a bit... unusual... even for a psychic with super-powers :).

reply

She was eight when the first prototype was born, and she was twelve when she died. She was genetically induced to carry a baby to term by Wade and his scientists. the last laptop you find b4 the Vault tells you that she was only eight when she gave birth.

Besides this game is pretty blunt with the story, if they say she was eight when the first prototype was born, then she was eight when the first prototype was born. Thats why she appeared as an eight year old girl for most of the game.

reply

"She was eight when the first prototype was born, and she was twelve when she died."

She wasn't. Sorry, but you're just plain wrong.

"Besides this game is pretty blunt with the story, if they say she was eight when the first prototype was born, then she was eight when the first prototype was born."

But, uh, they didn't say that. Maybe you should try following the story.

"Thats why she appeared as an eight year old girl for most of the game."

No, that's because she was eight when she was put in the vault, so she never had any experience of being any older than that.

reply

If she was in her late teens when she died, why is her final form that of a twelve year old girl? I mean, there is no way she is in her late teens there.

And they do say she was eight when the first prototype was born, thats what i was replying to, I cant remember if it was Harlan Wade who said it, but someone did.

Anyway, look at it logically, why would they start the Origin project when she was eight and then wait 7 years to actually start the project?

Trust me, she was no older than twelve when Fettel was born.

HEy, I just finished F.E.A.R again, and i just wanted to say im sorry for acting like i knew it all, Alma was fifteen, i listened carefully to what Wade said this time.

reply

I thought when Wade let her out, he said something like 'She was eight when we put her in here and died a few days later' but that doesn't make much sense...

What the hell is an Aluminum Falcon?

reply

"Jankowski probably got killed in the water treatment plant. There is a skeleton in the underground room that might be him, where you see Alma run past the tunnel and again when you go to the skeleton."

I'm not so sure. Don't you get a message saying they'd spotted his signal in the Armacham building? Maybe Fettel took him there and killed him: I'm pretty sure his ghost appeared there.

reply

I couldn't really help anyone with info on F.E.A.R, except for the Info that other people have told me, because the 1st Time I played F.E.A.R. was more for the ENJoY!MENT of the game. I didn't pay too much attention to the Story. The next time I play F.E.A.R., I will Focus my Concerns on the Story.
OfCourse, I gathered some Info from Playing the Game the 1st Time, and I might be able to help with info, but I am sure what Info I gathered, everyone already knows. ^^

well in the DVD with the director's commentary they say that he died in the second level ( the docks) remmember walking in the docks, and seeing a figure which wasn't Fettel ? and the part where there is a lot of blood and body(es ?) (not outside, but inside)

reply

I must say, F.E.A.R. is probably 1 of the Best Games I have ever played, if not the Best. I finished the game in 2 Days, and this Thread has helped me gather Info about the Game.

I can understand what you guys are saying, but from what I can recall, which is actually confusing, I remember the Message on the Phone or something saying that they Pulled the Plug @ Age 8 and she Died 6 Days after.
But that can't be right, since she made it to Fifteen.
Maybe I am wrong, which I sure I am, but still confusing.

Otherwise for that. Thanks fore the Help Everyone. ^^

reply

No, they said she died six days after they pulled the plug, which was presumably when they closed the Vault: she'd have been late teens by that point.

reply

So, if you're Alma's son, why is she attacking you? :\

reply

Alma gave birth to fettle when she was fifteen, and they pulled the plug when she made a phycic link with Fettle and he killed a few people. So if Fettle was 10,like Wade said, when this happened and they pulled the plug a few days later she would ahev been 25 or 26.

reply

Well, they never said how old Fettel was when she died, did they`? Not as I recall...

reply

They said he was fifteen when he went crazu, so they shut down the project and six days later she dies

reply

I thought someone said something about Janowski being found walking around the docks with amnesia?

Kinda like the way that Alice couldn't remember what happened to her when she was in the elevator with Alma.

I may of course be wrong.

reply

If Alma isn't actually released from the vault (hence the older undead looking version of herself) until the end of the game, how is she killing people left and right? Is she somehow projecting herself outside of the Armacham labs?

reply

I think she was released from the facilirty, when genevieve opened it up again.
When she sent a team in, Alma killed them, then called her son back to her.

reply

Okay people this is how it goes, Alma was placed into the Vault at Eight and she gave birth to Project Origins first prototype (The Point Man) at 15 years of age and Paxton Fettel at an unknown age, afterwards they removed Life Support and she died six days later. The reason Alma is shown outside the Vault even though still being sealed inside is because she and Fettel had a mind Synchronicity Event, which fused their minds so Fettel was able to feel her pain and take her revenge for her and Alma could project herself through Fettel's mind. When Fettel was young he was recruited into the Perseus Project which involved a psychic commander taking control of soldiers on the battlefield and ordering them what to do (i.e. The Replica Soldiers) butat age 10 he went mad and killed a few people so they pulled the plug on Project: PERSEUS.

"What the Hell are you?"-Dutch

reply

mmm... yes

but why is alma hostile towards the pointman (aka her 1st born son)?.

reply

Well, he is interfering with her whole "Revenge" plan, so naturally she would be forced to try and eliminate him. But since the "Revenge" plan succeeded she would naturally try and help her son seeing as he's no longer interfering with her plan.

"One Shot, One Kill" - Sniper Motto

reply

I think she tries to kill pointman because she never connected with him. Early in the game Paxton says "she is afraid of you" most likely because she can't control you (you find this out later when paxton says she could never get in your head or something. So i guess she was scared at the power you have and that you may be able to kill her.

reply

I don't think she actually knew who the pointman was, because at the end of the game after u 'kill' her you can hear her say 'I know who you are now'. I think paxton was somehow able to hide the fact from her, for what reason I have no idea.

reply

The stuff that was in the water was the waste being produced by the hidden vault in Auburn. Armacham didn't want anyone tracing it back to a classified facility, so they sent Moody in to try and cover things up.

She appears as an 8 year old for most of the game because she was imprisoned at that age. She died sometime in her teen years, which is why when she escapes she looks older than her 8 year old form, which she used because she that to her was pretty much when she went to hell.

Besides, Alma could never fully control your mind (Paxton says it sometime) and manipulate you like she did with Fettel, but when she was released, her real form, not her child form which is an apparition, has much more rage and insanity stored within, which was why she only tried to kill you herself at the end. When she finally remembers who you are at the end and you know who she is, she ceases attacking you. Extraction Point isn't even canon so her attempts to kill you then can be nullified.

reply

Alma was probably in her twenties or thirties when she died, given the plotline; not her teens.

My mind called me but I forgot to pick up. http://www.myspace.com/darkalessa

Yes *slaps forehead*. You're right, sorry. The main character was born in her teen years (fifteen I think), so she must have died later on.

In EP she's even crazier.
Trying to kill you one minute, saving you the next (in the tunnel she gets rid of some soldiers then tells you "You're safe now").
