I have no idea how it ends

She leaves him after he says she should lose weight again and she keeps her meter maid job instead of becoming a cop.

She finally has had enough of his emotional abuse and moves on.. we don't know what direction she will take in terms of her career but is left up in the air.. she doesn't have to decide till the end of the month if she wants to go to the police academy, but if she doesn't, she will get promoted in her current job; plus, who knows if she's going to give the $ her Mother left her back to her deceased lovers family. Bottomline: She dumps his sorry ass and gains her self respect back (that he was slowly tearing down).

Spoilers! The last time he comes to visit her, he brings a big bouquet of red roses. She lays them aside, maybe not directly in the trash, but obviously she thinks of them as trash. Then after he makes rude remarks about her body, she says she loved him as he was. He says loved, that is past tense. Everything about her body language and tone of voice says it is over. In the last scene, she has vastly improved her appearance, and probably her life.
