a feel bad movie

Expired is a movie you should watch if for some reason you want to feel
bad. There is nothing uplifting or entertaining about it. Watch the
"lives of others" instead.

I agree. I am not shy about liking what some would call "downer flicks" (Requiem for a Dream is one of my favorites), but I thought this was just wallowing in complete sadness. There's virtually no joy at all in the film from the beginning to end.

Nonsense. "Expired" is like Goth music - it works for the same reason, because there's nothing worse than feel-good fluffy bunnies and romantic crap when you feel terrible, especially about relationships.

I would heartily reccomend this film to anyone who has been unlucky in love. Although it probably helps to have a cynical disposition.

I have to agree. While I thought the main actors gave very competent performances, the story and charaterisations were unnatural and inconsistent. I imagine that on paper, either as a short novel or screenplay, it could work quite well, but I feel unfortunately it was not well realised.

What? Yeah, she might not have found someone, but I think the film ended with a lot of things going right for her, and her beginning to gain the self-esteem she never, but always should have, had.

Disagree with OP. This is a witty, well-executed dark comedy. I find it very entertaining; replete with awkward relationships and an overarcing absurdity intended to be humorous (successfully, IMO). Someone mentioned Punch Drunk Love, which on certain levels is a good parallel: Wounded, deeply flawed personalities attempting to connect and find love.
