Sequence:
1) Langda sends Rajjo over to Kesu with a rifle, orders him to finish him off
2) Rajjo stands near Kesu's body, smiles
3) Dolly hears a gunshot
4) Much later, we see Rajjo's dead body and Kesu waking up
How exactly did Rajjo die? It can't have been Kesu, he was unconscious. My guess is that Langda shot him, but I'd also like to know why Langda didn't wait until Rajjo had finished off Kesu BEFORE killing him.
... Rajjo shot himself.
It was the smile that misled me - the first time I saw it I thought it was cruel, but looking at it again I see it was the same despairing grimace he had on his face during the reservoir scene.
Damn, this movie is GOOD.

Because he knows he's "in it" up to his neck! Langda just told him that, and he knows that when Langda goes down for his crimes he's going with him as a co-conspirator. (Who phoned Billo and fed her the lies about Kesu? Who helped Langda set up the falsely incriminating scene for Omi's benefit?)
Remember, Rajjo looked pretty shattered (crying and shaking) when he finally realized that Langda's ultimate aim was mass murder. I think he shot himself as his last stand against Langda - he can't escape, but he's not going to become a murderer either.
I have seen this movie twice and always thought that Rajju (Deepak Dobriyal) was shot down by Langda (Saif Ali Khan). The thought of Rajju killing himself never struck my mind. I like your theory, it's great!
