Not at all. I guess by your logic Knocked Up ripped off American Pie cause they were both comedies.

thank you!! Indeed, The Notebook script was LATER than CTR, and if one was to be totally cynical, look at who produced The Notebook, and know that at one stage, the lead older actress was contracted to play the lead in CTR, and subsequently made The Notebook......
