First and Last Episode I'll Watch

I thought I would go into this show with an open mind. I was READY to laugh and SET for a good premiere, however, I ended up want to GO into another room. Her attempts at being funny by through in lines was absolutely pathetic and I was more annoyed then amused. Seems like she was trying way too hard. I believe I'm going to miss tomorrows episode.

What's everyone think?

Am I off base or right on the money?

reply

I loved it. But that's just me.

Anya: Quiet, you'll miss the humorous conclusion.

Hated the hell out of it! The Arquettes have once agian proved to be failures. I am sorry to see Cox go down with them

This was one of the worst shows I've ever seen. Sure, I didn't think it would be much by watching the previews, but I really started watching the episode w/ an open mind. Plus, since I had such low expectations, I figured it was bound to surprise me. I mean, how could it be worse than the horrible previews? I was wrong and I can't believe TBS is showing this crap.

Same here. Was watching it with two friends, after about 15min of total silence(from our parts). I think this was the exakt monolouge:

ME: "Ehm.. Is it ok if I change the channel?"
Friend1: "No, wait. It might get funnier"
(After another 30min)
Friend1: "Yeah, you can go ahead and change"

Bye bye Daisy...

reply

I dunno. It could get funnier next week. But it probably won't. I thought some parts were funny. But it seems like she's trying way too hard to be funny. But the whole bounty hunter idea was kinda dumb anyway. Now the country singer thing for next week, that could be funny...We'll see.

reply

Don't think I'm going to be seeing next week. I've seen enough of "America's Newest Funny Girl"

I guess I'm not the only one who dosen't agree with the show, oposed to some galls who was trying to convince me that's a great show ...

This woman was the most irritating thing on British talent for around 10 years, thank God she's transferred her 'talents' Stateside. Now I'm hoping she'll rip up her passport and have an extended vacation. Go on luv, you deserve it (and so do we..)

Couldn't disagree with all of you more. And I'm baffled as to how anyone with remote intelligence couldn't find her funny. I've trained and performed with some of the funniest people in the world and I think she's hysterical.

Great show - hope people like you don't ruin it for those of us with senses of humor.

reply

I think she's hilarious, I laugh out loud watching her show. Maybe its a little too high brow for some people.....

reply

couldn't agree more. She's not geared for the 'typical' American attention span or reference level.

As I can agree more with you that Tina Fey is funy and talanted actor, after I read what you wrote in hers message board. But it also says that you work in the acting area - ARE YOU SHURE YOU DON'T WORK FOR THE DASY'S SHOW AND THAT'S REASON YOU DEFEND IT, NOT BECAUSE YOU LIKE IT ?

There is what you wrote:
As for Tina - I've seen her improvise live MANY times and I'd have to disagree with you that she is not funny.

reply

That's funny - I do not actually work for the Daisy show, though I certainly wouldn't mind if I did :)

This is one of the few shows that I actually look forward to seeing. It's not as good as Family Guy or SNL, but it has potential. I love anyone that is quick witted and clever, and Daisy certainly is just that.
