guyver 2/lisker question

I just noticed something how come in one of the episodes he tells sho the mega smasher requires a significant amount of time to reacharge before it can fire again after he's unable to fire it on the squid zoanoid thing but at chronos headquarter lisker uses his to blow open the roof before he fights guyver I and he does so within seconds because the self destruct countdown had started when he first used it and isn't even finished when he opens his chest place a 2nd time and tries to fire again after knocking out sho.
He was only unable to fire because his control medal malfunctioned just at that time otherwise he probably woulda used it again and finished sho off so how come guyver 2's smasher recharged so much faster when both units are the same ? sorry if it seems like nitpicking but i'm just wondering was this just a plot continuity error ? or intentional maybe because of differences in the host lisker being physically in better shape than sho was able recharge faster ? what do u guys think ?
it was episode 8 i think you'll see he tries to use it twice within a matter of seconds.

Lisker was a highly trained soldier so that may have made a difference, but maybe the control medal/metal has a fail safe so it stops the mega smasher from being used too often and using too much energy which would seriously damage the guyver unit, but as Lisker's was damaged maybe the fail safe didn't come in to action which could be the reason that his guyver unit started to malfuction...Just a theory.

The damaged control medal seems the most likely theory. The assorted malfunctions, however, were just a result of the medal itself being damaged.
