I loved the 1st season.
There will be no closure simply because the manga is still being published. The author is still writing the story. Well, he managed to release enough material to make another 15-20 Tv serie episodes now I think, but the production might decide to keep waiting another couple years. It all depends on how much material they need and how many episodes they plan to do for another season.
One thing i dont understand is if this guy has been writing the manga for 2 decades now how is there not enough manga by now to go past the first 10 volumes of the manga even the new series only covers that much so 2 decades and all his writing has come up to only 10 or so volumes worth of work?
Maybe someone could help me out on this but it just doesnt make any sense if they couldnt make even 2 or 3 more seasons of guyver until they had no more material to work with.
Maybe because they used up nine years of material in those 26 episodes. The manga may have been going since 1985, but the author takes his sweet time with it.

Yes I've also read some short clips of the manga that's out so far. That whole mega-bio boost thing in the end is just half of what the Guyver suit is capable of. There's plenty of manga for there to be another series...the question is why don't they start making more?

Of course unless they're willing to do couple of filler episodes or stretching it out needlessly like DBZ did. Despite my desire to see it return, there is slim chance.
Blame the author. I mean honestly; come on: new chapters are coming out at a snail's pace. And from the looks of the current most chapter, the story stands intricately woven, maybe not so much but if I had to take an estimate, I'd say it will take at least 10 more volumes or manga books to bring it to a satisfactory conclusion if not more (which seems more likely).
Don't be surprised if you wind up waiting another 10 years for it to end or come close to an end. Perhaps if the author only cut down on the pages that fill up the action and stopped trying to bring new elements on and on and instead started to unwind the story; we may see it end sooner. Honestly, we haven't even witnessed the creators yet except for that mysterious figure, which if I remember correctly is an emissary of the creators. So we still have a long way to go.
I honestly don't understand what's with some of the manga's, why they go on forever. Sad thing is, they hook me in so bad that I can't stop watching or reading them because I want to know the outcome. And I mean Detective Conan here; honestly 600+ episodes!!?
there are 27 volumes of the manga and the tv show adapted volumes 1 to 10 that means there are 17 more volumes currently , more than enough to worrent another series hell maybe even 2 seasons

Season 1 was covering chapters 1-59 .. unfortunately after that events get pretty hectic and non stop.
They could make a new season that would go from chapter 60 (Guyver starts attacking CloudGate in Tokyo, Amakarum Mirabilis introduced) to chapter 162 (Final showdown at both Cloudgate and the Arizona Cronos HQ, Guyver III defeats 2 Zoalords and Zoalord Kabral Kan is defeated by Exceed Gigantic Guyver + introduction of Guyver II F).
At that point there is a 3 month "pause" in the story, and a new arc with a new character named Apolion starts.
Well, that's what I'm hoping for anyway :)

if you do a google search you may find translated scans i did i had a long read of them not anywhere near the end but wow it gets pretty crazy would be hard to adapt but not impossible the scans can take a long while to come out
also i own all the viz completions there are 7 of them but hav had some of the art work altered and mirred to read from left to right western style as aposed to right to left eastern style and vol 8 from a company called chuang yi that now only sell ther issues to Australia and Singapore thay got as far as 10 books and thay are less altered and read right to left but has had nipples air brushed out but if you live in the west you will be verry lucky to get them im still amazed i was able to get this volume a fellow was selling them on ebay a few years back and he got in trouble for doing so apparently
but chuag yi only where allowed to publish to book 10 so reading online scans is the only way to go sadly if thay was published in the west i would buy them all in a heartbeat
