Not sure man all Im truley sure of is Guyver has been my hero from the beging. Its hard to decide, the 1989 Guyver was a classic and a huge part of my life making me who I am today. As for the new version it has its perks, its been drug out to be a longer show giving more charecter development and beautiful art work. To be honest I miss the old voice actors, I was realy hopeing they would return to they're roles. Im ok with Sho's new voice but as for Agitos and Geo I cant stand them. Geo's voice use to be intimidating now its some old weak nerdy voice. As for Agito, his new voice sounds all prissy. Steve Blum's Agito was a perfect fit, I truley miss him. As for the music I have to say the orginal over the new, I loved the sound track it made Guyver a little more special. The new music is ok, I like the theam song thats realy about it. All I can realy say is Guyver is Guyver and I love it.

They are both great in different ways. The OVA is very dense, with lots of action and stuff going on all the time. The new one still has the action but it's drawn out more, but thats not exactly a bad thing either as their is a lot more to the plot. But as Shibanu said I to loved the old voice of Geo, it was so freakin' evil and powerful sounding.

I'm still curious to how Gyout's voice will sound when he transforms into his battle form....

I liked the original series a bit better because I was addicted to it for so long, but at least this series will allow us to see the whole story(hopefully)

I liked how the original series didnt pull out any stops, it was brutally violent, and didnt censor anyhthing, the same cannot be said for the new series

I like some of the action scenes from the original a bit better. They are somewhat more epic, so is the music. But the remake is sooooooooo much better drawn and has wayyyyyy better character development.
I don't miss the original voice actors, because I think Guoy (spelled correctly) was too over the top and Mizuki was annoying as hell.

Well, the original OAVs had the advantage to exist, but compared to the new TV series ...
I mean, I have seen the OAV before I even discovered the mangas, and I loved the story, but

1) The OAVS totally butchered the original story
The new show, even if not perfect, is much much closer to its roots.
Much stronger char development too.

2) The animation and GFX were pretty bad, even for the time.
The new Series has actually a much better animation and GFX Than average for a TV series.

I could go on, but to me there is no match... The new Show is far and away better than the old OAVs. There is a nostalgia factor though, The Guyver was among the first big successes of Manga Video, along with Akira, Dominion Tank Police and Ninja Scroll.

the original series (the manga one that was'nt finished) for me is better. when watching the new,and waiting for the Guyver to show for the first time, then he just walks out of the smoke... in the old one! it was played out much better and the playing out of the scenes and battles was much more dramaticlly done. i really felt for there safety all the time. but in the new one, the action isnt as long, the (well) acting words was'nt as good as i'd hoped. but yeah. at least i know the ending now.

The new series is much more better for me! The old series was good, but the bad voice dubbing pretty much ruined it for me that I would usually put it on mute and just watch the action scenes.

I like them both equally. I preferred the first series initially but I've really taken to the most recent series now that I've watched it again.

I preferred the voice actors from the first series but the second series is perfectly drawn out and goes into much more detail than the first series, which didn't explain much at all.

I think the first season was more violent but it lack depth in comparison to the second. If you could take the best bits from either series and mesh them together, they'd be awesome.
