How do you turn on the english subtitles on the Russian DVD menu?

I just got the russian DVD. When the underground kids start reading and talking from the book in russian. I cant figure how to turn on english subtitles. The DVD says it has Subtitles: English, Portuguese. does anyone have the DVD and knows how to turn on the subtitles? the menu is in Russian. I keep on turning on a Russian Audio track!
