hi,

I appreciate your opinion but it's pretty useless. I'm not convinced. why do you think it was so boring? do you have ADHD? can you explain a little bit about how it was boring you? Maybe it's just not your cup of tea, maybe you prefer movies like Transformers or Crossroads. Was it just a slow film? Was there too much talking and not enough cheap thrills? What makes a movie boring?

I have time to waste, so I want to see it. Unless you can give me a good explanation as to why I shouldn't.

Hi all .... delicatedream I know where you're coming from with your questions, but for this movie, just trust us that this is the worst movie you will ever watch, bar none. The plot is non existent and confusing, it is filmed in darkness, you have no empathy with the characters, and it is utterly coma inducing. I switched it off after half an hour, which is a rarity for me, normally I will see a film through to the end, but this one sucked too much!

reply

You're completely right, man.
Waste of time. I finished it, but it took me three or four tries, spaced by weeks. I hoped there would be something in the movie that was worth my efforts.
No reward at all. By the end of the film I felt like slapping both the director and the writer in the face...

I watched this film last night and I have to say I don't know how I made it through to the end. I didn't even rent it, someone else did, yet he was sleeping 2/3 through it and I was left to endure the rest alone. I'd have rather been the one to ask the next day "so did anything ever happen in the movie last night?" and have the other person say "no, nothing.

So it's good advice, don't watch it. But then again, it's only an opinion. All tastes are different.

My list of "The worse movies of all time" has now been updated:

#1) Cabin Boy
#2) Moscow Zero
#3) Dreamcatcher

I have to disagree with you saying it is the worst film ever made. It is really really really bad, but the worst film ever made has to be "Zombie Night". It is literally the worst film ever made. I almost killed myself just to wipe the memory from my brain.

inerzia - i felt like slapping myself in the face. no point to it, just like this movie.

Going to have to agree with the rest here. If you have time to waste, more power to you, but I cannot even recommend this movie as a waste of time.

Pretty much everything about it was just wrong. And then when I thought I had an idea of what was going on, the plot just decided to crap on me again.

I have seen plenty of movies that do not follow the formula that delicatedream is describing and found them very enjoyable, so I am pretty sure my opinion is not swayed by blockbuster hype. That being said, this movie is just really bad with pretty much all of the components that are necessary to make an "eclectic" movie totally ignored.

a bunch of guys running around a subterranean tunnel trying to find a way out for just over an hour isnt boring to you?

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, not their own facts.

its a moive, things are supposed to happen, its supposed to be an escape from reality.did you not go to HS?

elements of a story (i cant remember it all but):

introduction, plot, rising action, fall of something and conlusion.(the pyramid scheme)

someone reply that who knows (without calling me an idiot).

this movie only had a vague introduction.

reply

He's right, it was really boring and nothing changes from the beginning of the movie to the end of it.

I for one can enjoy an almost plotless movie ("Rumble Fish", one of my favourites) or slow one (Most Angelopoulos). But this one…
Basically the characters are NOT properly introduced. You just barge into something you know nothing of. Then you have all this stuff about demons… But that's all ! They talk and talk, then you get scenes of some characters doing the same thing all over again (the little girl running, stopping, then going God knows where… How many time did it happen ?) Plus, if you expect a payback, there's only the worst cop-out ending, one that has you go "huh ?"
Liking movies where nothing happens is not a sign of intelligence. If you are not entertained, then have an intellectual thrill at least (just like Julio Medem's marvellous movie, to quote a much-underrated Spanish director), or a character study. Here you have, well, nothing. No characters. No intelligence. No thrills.
The worst thing is that there WAS potential, only hinted at. The use of the secret underground, which does exist, is potentially thrilling. The idea of degenerative societies living underground had potential, and not for just CHUD-like schlock. The hinted-at (or maybe it was my imagination) notion that demons and humans switched sides was intellectually challenging. it just lead nowhere… Slowly.
Actually it felt like a 3 mn music video stretched to 80 mn. Not a good thing !
I can't find a taglmine to stretch how bad this was. I wish the DVD included an audio commentary. Then maybe some of the ideas might have been pointed out. But I did not even get this… Maybe that's why the director hided as "Luna" !

You called the ending a "cop-out."

If you are able to understand the ending well enough to know that it was a cop-out ending then you, sir, deserve the grand prize. Please. What the hell was that ending?

We're "underground." Then we're inside a church/temple/whatever many stories in the air. Then the girl is about a mile away. All at the same time. I can't figure this out. I have watched three times now, just trying to find something good and trying so hard not to feel like a complete idiot for not understanding what is happening. But that's it. I give. The writer and director have broken my spirit and I must admit there are gaping holes in my brain. Please explain the ending.

It can't just be me though. The reviews don't lie.
