Eerie, Unique...worth watching

This film seemed to be made from 'outside the spectrum'- as though the director grew up in a community without tv or cinemas, or perhaps she just wanted to make a film which was unique, her own. She has succeeded and it is not the terrible film that some reviewers on this site would have you believe.

The director has fashioned a chilling film with an odd mix of storytelling, acting & effects that would be best suited to watching at 2am during a bout of insomnia...perhaps it is too different to standard film fare to be consumed in the regular way..?

The hardest part may be finding a copy, but if you can pick it up for $10 bucks or so off amazon, i'd say it's worth it

I sort of agree. It's a 6/10 movie, not nearly as bad as some have made it out to be. Don't see it for Val Kilmer though. He's only on screen for about three minutes, as far as I could tell.

The story is utterly ridiculous, but that's the case with most horror-mystery films, so you can cut it some slack. Where this one succeeds I think is with atmosphere and visual style. I could have done without the abuse of the dome lens effect though.

In summary, it's bad, but I have seen far worse, is what I'm trying to say.

*Spoilers*

It's a bad movie, and the only reason i watched it was because i happened to buy it in a cheap-bin along with movies like Wanted or Married Life, but i gotta admit besides the fish-eye i thought the visuals were cool. THere were also a couple cool ideas like the sign for hell being misunderstood by those above as "the gate to hell" or the children being "demons".

I dunno if this is how others interpreted it (gotta admit some parts i wasn't paying much attention) but i thought the little girl saying "the demons are coming" were refering to the Priest's group and Sergio and them saw the little kids as "demons". These along with a couple other points of the movie, like the sings on the walls being left by the kids etc., were cool, and put into any other movie they could have been great, but something was definitely lacking...
