Sorry, but I can't help but wanting Anthony Hopkins to win at the end

Don't get me wrong I don't condone the murder, but I don't feel the least bit sorry for his wife or her lover. This is like Law Abiding Citizen where I'm rooting for the bad guy.

Yeah , me too . I wanted him to win . Beecham ( gosling) was smug and unlikable and I wanted to see his pants being pulled down . Not literal sense .:/

I agree with you, I can understand him wanting to kill the cheating bitch!

'No offense' means I'm about to insult you, but don't get mad.

If that many of you feel that way, then maybe the movie ended at the perfect place

It's not real life, so, I also wanted him to get away with it at the end.

SPOILER AHEAD FOR DIFFERENT MOVIE
MR. BROOKS

Mr. Brooks with Kevin Costner was about a serial killer. He murders innocent people in that movie, apparently plenty of them too. Yet, I was glad he got away with it at the end. Now irl, there's no way I would want a serial killer to get away with murder. But since it was all make believe, I could root for him. That's why I could want Anthony Hopkins to get away with it as well. It wasn't real.

Hmmmm not feeling sorry for them because they are cheaters is one thing but thinking he should get away free for killing two people because his ego couldn't take being cheated on?

Seriously?

I kinda did also. But not for the same reason as you.

I kinda wanted him to win because the guy was so smart, basically he deserved to win imo xD nothing to do with cheating wife or anything like that
