i thought it was a really good movie. It was intriguing and seductive and atmoshperic, and plus had a somewhat exotic feel to it. Filmed in and around Hangzhou, China, which is an extremely scenic area.
I liked the dancer girl - she had wonderful eye and facial expressions. The ending was a tad melodramatic, but that's probably just the way they do things. I mean, at least it wasn't full of exploding car scenes.
Didn't enjoy it. I may have just not gotten it but it didn't seem any different from any other murder mystery. Several very pretty Chinese ladies in it but I can see that in a lot of movies.
I saw nothing that sets this movie apart from "the pack".
I also enjoyed it a lot. The cinematography and soundtrack are very dreamy, creating a sense of impending doom throughout. The story is also well-written, engaging, and focuses on distrust as the key element.
A very underrated film, IMO.
