Why, oh why?


Is anyone else amazed that this was just a TV film? it's absolutely brilliant. Why, oh why wasn't this a theatrical release? It's miles better than ANYTHING Richard Curtis could write/direct, and I'm guessing it was far less expensive. Poliakoff is some director!

You're right, I think the photography would've worked on the big screen as well. Then again - In cinemas the film probably would've disappeared after only two weeks or so, because it isn't a potential blockbuster. (No explosions, car chases, wand waving, dwarves with hairy feet or tentacles in faces) And for me being from Germany the TV release was positive, because so the DVD came out a lot sooner.
