What is this?

I saw Dreamer: Inspired by a True Story in theaters and am a huge Dakota Fanning fan. But what is this short version of it? I've never heard of it before. I had no idea they made a short version of this movie as well as the full-lenth one. Why was the "Inspired by a True Story" part of the title taken out? I'm kinda confused as to what this short version of the film is and where it was played. Is it just some clips from the full-length version? It's definitely not a completely different movie with different lines from the full-length one, is it? Please give me all of the details you can.
