i think they'd do all filming before the first episode airs

Posting in response to people's guesses that the show won't work after a while becuase people will recognize the actors:

My guess, and correct me if i'm wrong, is that they did all the filming before the episode airs. If one episode of this show aired, before they were done filming the concept would be ruined, because the odds that one of these people wouldn't have turned to comedy central, which they're all over, is too big. It is a thin gimmick because i don't know what will happen in season 2.

yeah that's always tough with shows like this... I imagine the same thing happened with Da Ali G Show.

it's a shame that question needs to be asked. it's similar to Dog Bites Man in that other than the main actor (Sacha Baron Cohen as 1 of 3 hilarious characters), everyone else does not realize it is fake. He's able to score interviews with big names such as James Lipton, Ralph Nader, and Buzz Aldrin. Look into it... it's on HBO and out on DVD.

it's also a shame that people who have HBO act all exclusive about it, like "oh, i can't believe you're unfamiliar with this show" like you just did. HBO is expensive and not everyone pays for it and it doesn't come with every service provider as part of a package.

I think he meant to say its shocking that people haven't heard of Da Ali G Show nowadays because it has become so popular, not because its on TV in general. Both seasons are out on DVD and theyve already made one movie, and are making another as we speak. So its pretty easy to find and definitely worth checking out.
