How does this show work?

ok so obviously the only actors are the news team. and everyone else has to sign wavers or else be blurred out, so do you think whoever gets the wavers signed lets the real people in on the bit or keeps it as secret as possible. or do they ask them to sign wavers under the guise of the documentary? not that it matters i'm just curious. either way the show is great.
