My Mom saw the film at a convention this weekend and just loved the film and couldn't stop talking about it, she wants me to go see it with her at the end of the month. She made me promise to vote for the film..
I guess it will be Mom's night out in SoCal.

Except me. I'm a mom with college-age kids, and this movie embarrassed me. Maybe it's because I grew up in a liberal, urban environment and got most of that partying and FU attitude out of my system when I was young. It's not that I don't think it's great for older people to discover new lives for themselves; it's that this movie portrays that possibility so unrealistically, so foolishly, really. I'd rather shoot myself than have a pillow fight in a motel room with the gals from my book club.
Nevertheless, loved Joan Allen's performance. She's one of my favorite actresses.
