Both sides are wrong

Both sides ignore international law and see themselves above the law and above the UN. In the case of Israel its in the name of sovereignty in the case of Palestine its in the name of fundamentalism.

Nationalism and Fundamentalism are both political in nature and they both are opposed to liberal democratic values, human rights and peace. Neither group is very complacent to the ICR or to international covenants like the ICCPR, ICSER or the UDHR. Both nations and their supporters tend to view national or religious interests above and beyond obedience to the law.

If either group wants to be in the right, following through with the basic human rights demands in international law and acting on advice of the UN is required. Until then its two players both ignorant to the law who both see themselves above it. It doesn't matter if anyone has killed more, the death of one innocent child is the same as that of the whole world. Changing self justification in the name of their above the law philosophy to peace oriented obedience to international law is needed. Until then nobody is right.
