Why Didn't Anybody Look for the Thirft Store Owner?

Am I the only one who was bothered by this? They said the store was closed and that was that. next discussion. How about checking into where the owner went and asking how he/she got their hands on the painting and tracing things backwards from there.

Did I miss something?????

Talking to the thrift store owner may not have been fruitful. A thrift store usually sells donated items. If the owner didn't seem to care about the painting, she probably didn't care too much about the owner.

She probably received many donations throughout the day and week--unless there was something special about the item, those interactions were likely brief and forgotten soon after the person left. This assumes that the person who left the painting even interacted with anyone--there could have been a container or area outside of the store where people could leave their donations.
