I thought Mammoth was pretty fun

Obviously the filmmakers were probably under huge time, budget and
location restraints so I thought they did a great job with what they
had to work with. One of my favorite parts included the "flashback"
scene with the scientist's hand being cut off - the blood squirt timing
was very comedic. I loved the credits sequence too - very original. All
the references and homages to other films like Jurassic Park, Evil Dead
2, Night of the Living Dead, The Blob and Pitch Black (the boyfriend's
death scene reminded me of the final death scene in P.B. whether or not
it was intentional) earned extra points with me. And it cracked me up
that every time one of those agents whipped out their ID there was a
sound effect. Obviously I would have liked to see more footage of the
Mammoth stomping out people but like I said before, I'm sure the budget
wouldn't allow. And the best line was towards the end, "God is for
Sunday. Today we pray to Nike."

It was a pretty entertaining film. I expected it be filled with the sort of campiness of most Sci-Fi flicks, and at first I thought it was. But then I realized that the film didn't really take itself seriously, which was a good thing.

The homages and references were a good touch and only added to the film.

As for the best line, the Nike one was good, but "We've got an alien possessed mammoth on the loose" is the one to remember for me.

"Mammoth" is worth watching on a few different levels. Good work for Sci-Fi.

I got more laughs out of this movie than most so-called comedies. My favorite scene was the guy in the monkey suit; supposed to entertain children at parties the monkey face is so grotesque it is guaranteed to traumatize a kid for life. That was funny enough. But then the mammoth nails the guy and the Tom Skerrit character finds the body and thinks he has proof that space alien monkeys have invaded Earth. This could have been left on the cutting room floor as it was not linear to the plot but it was, for me, the high point of the movie. If it becomes available on DVD I'm buying it.

Very entertaining flick. Odd role for Skerrit, but could tell he had fun with it.

Personally, the best line to me was "What are you smoking?" "its like the blind leading the stupid".....haha!

Perfectly put. Quite a fun film. Will remember it because it was such a shocker in it's high quality for it's place.

I agree. They definitely did a lot with their budget. Too bad they didn't have more humor.
