I continue to really enjoy this show

A few years back a started a thread here about how I have enjoyed this show. Well, several years and many new episodes later, I STILL think this show is great.

I think it is important for the viewer to watch each episode with a skeptical eye, but that said, I think every episode is very good in making it clear that there are many alternative views to those presented on the show, and I give this guy a great deal of credit for showing, very clearly, that many of his theories are viewed as being "way out there" by the powers that be.

That said, I think many of the theories presented in the show have merit, but beyond that, they are extremely informative and do a great job of presenting biblical/middle east history in a way that is both informative and entertaining. Indeed, it seems probably to me that many of the professionals that look down on this show do so because it succeeds in making history FUN! I don't subscribe to the idea that all learning must be dull. My guess is that The Naked Archeologist has succeeded in teaching biblical history to a wider audience than just about anyone who has ever come before him. Any way you slice it, that is great.

One further positive aspect is that it has informed a lot of people who were raised Christian, such as myself, about the intertwined nature of the Judaism and Christianity--beyond that which was taught to us in Sunday School. I have also come to hold Judaism in much greater respect than I ever did before--it's nice that I have come to recognize it for the noble faith that it is. It certainly occurs to me that much greater efforts should be made to "reach out" between the two religions. For that matter, given that Christianity and Islam both sprang form Judaism and that all three faiths worship the God of Abraham, the rancor which is present among these three faiths in unjustified. We are much closer than most of us realize.

Does anyone know where to write this show? I have a few questions that might make it to one of his "letters" shows. Whatever the case, I hope that the show continues to receive funding for new episodes. There are a million great topics which it could cover. Keep them coming!
