Why is no one traumatized at the end?

The day Kale gets his house arrest bracelet off is so soon after what happened with the neighbor that Ronnie still has a bruise on his eye, yet none of the characters show signs of having gone through anything. It may even be the happiest we've seen any of them through the entire course of the movie.

A year after seeing his father die Kale is punching teachers in class, but days after floating in a tank of dead bodies, seeing his mother hanging from a ceiling, almost losing his best friend, and literally killing a man he's cracking jokes and making out with his girlfriend? Who are they trying to appeal to with that baloney? I know this isn't exactly high quality cinema but that took away from the impact of what the characters went through.

I agree. Ridiculous. It was a proper *beep* film anyway. It's not like the end ruined a good film....

Just said the exact same thing to the other half!

Some of us aren't such delicate little flowers. I've smiled in the face of SERIOUS adversity, more than once.

I don't love her.. She kicked me in the face!!
