The dog scene

Awesome. Movies will always kill the dog, but it was funny seeing the dog's brains get splattered like a human. Because it was a "movie within a movie" I thought it worked well and was funny.

Grammar...

It's either "you're a f##ked up kid" (with no comma) or "you're f##ked up, kid" (with no "a")

Morons.

it was absolutely horrible and disgusting. sad too. it wasnt funny at all.
but we all have our opinions.

reply

The point is to be offended by it. The people watching it were offended by it. The offensiveness of it was a plot point that drove the rest of that story.

Duh.

Are you even qualified to comment on movies?

reply

I agree with you 100%!!

Only people should be shot in the head.

something terribly clever.

The two people who posted before me are both total pussies. I thought that was hilarious. Especially the way people reacted. It's true, too. People lose their *beep* when animals get hurt in movies.

That's because some people prefer animals to humans. And after reading your post, and the OP's, I understand why.

"If all else perished, and he remained, I should still continue to be."

reply

I understand it, to. But when someone flips out over something that happens in a movie, and in this case a movie within a movie, that's just pathetic. Anyone who has a problem with a dog being killed in a fake movie is a dumb vagina.

I laughed out loud because it was so gratuitous. The large amount of blood and superfluous gun shots made an intense scene over the top.

I agree that if the movie was serious it would have been difficult to watch. Dogs are often innocent (like other animals) and to see them attacked is painful. I would like to point out a human was shot as well. I always found it humorous when people get so outraged that an animal is killed but don't react to scenes where people are killed. I remember everyone in Independence Day was concerned about the dog making it safely to the door before a fire ball destroyed everything. I agree its good the dog survived. It was nice to see but everyone seems to forget the multitude of people who were killed from the fire ball.

Something you can take solace in, it was Hollywood. No animal was hurt. The dog then got big laughs for his interview at Cannes (not to mention some tasty treats most likely after staying still during the movie in a movie scene).

It's just a movie, and there is a lot worse out there. Just sit back and enjoy this decent film.

Agree 100%, so funny.

reply

I thought it was kind of funny. Not for the actual image of the dog getting shot but more of the situation. It was the absurdity of it that was funny because a crazy director would try to be shocking by doing that.

And by reading this thread, it reminds me how much we lost the skill of argument. If only the Presidential debates were like forum debates:

You're a liberal moron.
Well your a conservative idiot.
Learn your grammar, its 'you're' not 'your.'

I agree that the dog scene was the best scene of the movie as well. Isn't it interesting how animals can elicit as much, and in some cases even more compassion than a human could. Being a dog lover myself I perfectly understand how movies such as "Marley and Me" can arouse such heartfelt emotions in moviegoers and in stark contrast how the dog scene from "What Just Happened" can instill feelings of injustice. We hear about it all the time on front pages of newspapers where the press makes a big brouhaha of animal cruelty cases and rightly so.

reply

I think the movie is also making fun of how people can watch people get their heads blow off all day, but one animal dies and its a tragedy.

reply

Yep, that's correct! As someone has already said, thousands of people can die horrible deaths and no one blinks, one dog gets killed and everyone stands indignant. So strange yet so funny!

reply

the dog was still alive!!!!! that was the worse part.. he was lyng there, alive, with a hole in his BRAIN.. ? wtf

If at first you don't succeed, call it version 1.0

reply

i agree i think it was hilarious not because of the dog got shot but because of the whole situation and the Brit made it so much worse Lmao! it was awesome!
